Amos Levkovitch

When the Los Angeles Times, Entertainment Today and London Evening News rave about Amos Levkovitch, you’re on to something special in the world of magic.

Growing up in pre-television era Israel, Levkovitch saw his first magic performed when a friend made three apricot seeds disappear and reappear. So taken with the sleight of hand was Levkovitch that he traded part of his precious marble collection for the seeds. One could say that he lost his marbles over magic at a very early age. Though he began to learn about magic, not until he was 20 did Levkovitch see his first “real magician”, a commander in his army unit performing card tricks and sleight of hand with silk scarves and boxes. Following his stint in the Israeli Army, Levkovitch went to university where he continued to practice and perform the magic crafts. Israel, not being overrun with magicians and Levkovitch becoming more skilled and more popular, made a nice income for a university student. One job led to another and then a friend suggested that Levkovitch make a trip to America, to California, to the Magic Castle in Hollywood: The pinnacle of a magician’s aspirations.

Shortly after arriving in Los Angeles he bought two doves to begin developing a new act that “dovetailed” with his love of animals. The goal: To be invited to be a regular performer at the Magic Castle. To be invited one must audition for the most discerning eyes in the magical arts. Levkovitch was not invited following his first audition. Smart, ambitious, skilled and hungry he continued to rehearse and develop his act, his style, and his partnership with the doves. After weeks of rehearsal Levkovitch again auditioned for the Magic Castle. He has been a regular performer at the Castle since and tours performing for corporations and organizations across America. Half a dozen doves appear, disappear and reappear in a seamless sleight-of-hand that has audiences dumbstruck. His doves have been trained not only to interact with Levkovitch, but with other people and objects. This dedication has earned Levkovitch back-to-back Magic Castle “Stage Magician of the Year” awards voted by the members of The Academy of Magical Arts. He has performed at every major hotel/casino in Las Vegas and entertained for corporations ranging from Disneyworld, AT&T, Honeywell and Nutri Systems to organizations such as the American Cancer Society, City of Hope, California Institute of Technology and Hoag Hospital Foundation, to name only a very few.

An expert on raising and training white domestic doves, Levkovitch is a regular lecturer at bird societies around the United States and has been nominated for “Lecturer of the Year” by the Magic Castle.

Amos Levkovitch is for the birds and audiences can’t get enough of him. When your company or organization event needs something extra and unusual for after dinner entertainment or as an atypical break during a conference, Amos Levkovitch will leave your team entertained and re-energized and put a feather in your cap for booking him.
